胡向平，男，1974年生于浙江省东阳市。现任中科院大连化物所研究员，博士生导师，功能有机分子与材料研究组组长。1992年至1999年，在中国农业大学获得学士学位和硕士学位。2003年于中科院大连化物所获得博士学位。此后，在中科院大连化物所工作至今。其中，2005年至2006年，赴英国爱丁堡大学从事博士后研究。目前研究领域为手性膦配体的设计、合成及其在不对称催化反应中的应用。2015年获得 Thieme Chemistry  Journals Award 2015奖。

Xiang-Ping Hu was born in 1974 in Dongyang, Zhejiang, China and received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the China Agricultural University. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2003 from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After a postdoctoral stay with Dr. Hon Wai Lam at the University of Edinburgh, he began his academic career as a research assistant at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2006. He was promoted to associate professor in 2007 and to full professor in 2013. His current research interests are based on the development and application of new chiral phosphorus-containing ligands for asymmetric catalysis, especially enantioselective propargylic transformation. In 2015, he received the Thieme Journals Award.
